Website of the week
Cheryl Shops is technically a shopping-oriented blog (uh, clearly), but since my focus is primarily on clothes, accessories, and such, I often can't talk about shopping without touching upon fashion (hence "news digest" and similar features). And while my website of the week is usually a e-commerce site (i.e. you can shop there), sometimes I have to make an exception. Like this week: One of my favorite designers, Alexander McQueen, has launched a new website, and it's gorgeous. You can view his current collection in all of its draped and tailored glory, as well as highlights from his past collections, the entire line of eyewear, and the men's line. You can read McQueen's biography and view video clips too. Sure, it doesn't have the bells and whistles that parent Gucci's site does, but the minimalist presentation doesn't distract from the real star: McQueen's superbly constructed clothes. Still want to go shopping? Okay, consider this a preview, then hit McQueen's store on 14 Street.
